Ostfriesen trinken mindestens 3 Mal täglich Ostfriesentee – zum Frühstück, zur Teezeit (die ist so gegen 15 Uhr) und zum Abendbrot. Da wir nun seit einigen Jahren in Berlin wohnen und auch nicht so richtig jeden Tag frühstücken, gibt es bei uns meist „nur“ ein- oder zweimal am Tag Ostfriesentee und das ist unter der Woche meist abends, wenn wir vor dem Fernseher sitzen und zur Ruhe kommen. Oder halt am Wochenende, wenn wir eh immer gern etwas Leckeres backen und uns dann einfach die Zeit nehmen, uns gemütlich hinzusetzen und die Teezeit zu zelebrieren.
Jedes Mal, wenn wir wieder in Ostfriesland sind, fällt mir auf, dass der Tee dort viel besser schmeckt, als hier in Berlin (das Wasser ist einfach kalkiger hier…), darum haben wir schon des öfteren darüber nachgedacht, ob wir nicht das gute ostfriesische Wasser nach Berlin importieren, haha. So machen wir es jedenfalls immer mit dem guten alten Thiele Tee und dem Kluntje – der ist in der Heimat nämlich ca. um das vierfache günstiger, als in Berlin!
Und da es nicht so DAS typische Ostfriesen-Tee-Gebäck gibt (jedenfalls nicht dass ich wüsste) meinte mein Mann letztens aus heiterem Himmel, dass wir doch mal „Scones“ machen könnten. Ja, diese englischen kleinen „Brötchen“ unter denen ich mir bisher nie so richtig was vorstellen konnte und bei denen ich immer dachte, das sind einfach so kleine „Teighäufchen“, die nach nichts schmecken… ;-)
Gestern war es dann so weit und er wollte die Teile unbedingt haben. Da ich nicht so überzeugt von der Idee war und lieber meine leckeren Doppelkekse in mich reingestopft hätte (die standen halt gerade neben mir und dafür musste ich mich nicht bewegen…) hat er sich einfach selbst in die Küche begeben (normalerweise ist er genauso faul, wie ich – aber er wollte die Dinger unbedingt haben, haha!) und Scones gebacken.
Das Rezept zu den Scones hat er in der Erdbeerlounge* gefunden. Man braucht wirklich nicht viele Zutaten (eigentlich alles Dinge, die man eh im Haus hat) und es ging sooo super schnell, dass ich in der Zeit nicht mal auf die Idee gekommen wäre, meine Hand zu bewegen und zu den Doppelkeksen zu greifen (es war Sonntag – da darf ich so faul sein!)
Das Ergebnis hat mich aber echt umgehauen – die Teile sind schnell zubereitet, sind nicht so „schlimm“ (#healthyundso) wie Doppelkekse und schmecken unheimlich gut! Dazu gab es Erdbeer- und Bratapfel-marmelade (die war in meinem Wichtelpaket von Steffi – das Rezept findet ihr hier – sooo lecker sag ich euch!).
Also, wer mal ganz schnell etwas Leckeres für zwischendurch zaubern möchte, ohne lange nach den Zutaten suchen zu müssen, der sollte unbedingt mal hier vorbeischauen und die leckeren kleinen Teile nachbacken!

Ein toller Artikel! Ich bin ja auch so eine Teetante, mein liebster Tee ist der Spring Darjeeling, gerne gut und teuer, Hauptsache es schmeckt. Aber stimmt, das Wasser in Berlin ist echt kalkhaltig. Ich habe die Scones auch mal zuhause gebacken, mit Clotted Cream und Strawberry Jam. Die gehören ganz einfach zur Teatime dazu. Wenn ich in Hamburg zu Besuch bin, genieße ich es immer die ganzen Teehäuser zu besuchen und shoppe einiges in den Tee-Kontoren und Kaffeeröstereien.
